Norma T. Seligman, 86, of Tipton, Iowa, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home, Tipton. Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.
Norma was born in Clinton County, Iowa on Aug. 23, 1934, the daughter of George and Violet (Hoffmann) Hansen. She graduated from Durant High School with the class of 1953. In her younger years, Norma enjoyed playing softball, and after graduation she played semi-pro softball. Norma married Andre “Andy” Seligman on Oct. 10, 1986 in Tipton. Andy died on Jan. 8, 2017.
Norma worked alongside her husband Andy on their farm in rural Tipton, and cherished taking care of her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially tending her vegetable garden. Most of all, Norma treasured spending time with her family.
Norma will be dearly remembered by her three sons, Mark (Emma) Dietz of Houston, Texas, Mike (Becky) Dietz of O’Fallon, Illinois, and Chuck (Kim) Dietz of Atalissa; one daughter in-law, Toni Dietz of Davenport; three grandchildren, Colton Dietz, Misty (Mike) Anderson, and Vanessa Dietz; one sister, Helen “Bootie” Kappeler of Cresco; and one brother, Harold (Marjorie) Hansen of Davenport.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Andy; one son, Rick Dietz; and one brother, Leon Hansen.
