Mary June Hein, 77, of Stockton, Iowa, died on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at her home.  A visitation was held Monday, May 10, at Edwards United Church of Christ, Davenport.  A funeral service was held May 11 at Edwards United Church of Christ, Davenport. Burial will take place in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mary was born on July 13, 1943, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Powell) Geiger in Davenport.  She attended and graduated from Davenport Central High School.  She married Darel Hein on Feb. 13, 1971 at Edwards United Church of Christ.

Mary worked at First Federal Savings and Loan in Davenport for many years. She was a homemaker, who cherished taking care of her family.  Mary also made sure that the field crew was fed a hot meal. 

She was a lifetime member of Edwards United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir and served on various boards.  She was also a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi service sorority.  In her younger years, Mary was a member of Scott County Cattlewomen’s, serving a term as president.  She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word searches, classic movies and spending time with pets, especially cats.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Darel; and two daughters, Kim Hein of Davenport and Britt (Troy) Burmeister of Stockton.

She was preceded in death her parents, Albert and Helen Geiger; two brothers, Lawrence “Larry” Geiger and Kenneth Geiger; and one sister, Helen Allen.
