Anna Mae (Lane) Young of Aurora, Illinois, and formerly of Durant, Iowa, died on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at the age of 95.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at the Runge Mortuary, 838 E. Kimberly Rd., Davenport, Iowa 52807. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Regarding Covid-19, while inside, please wear a mask in consideration of others.
Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Durant Ambulance.
She was born on Oct. 27, 1926 in Mercer, Missouri. Anna was married to Robert Young on March 22, 1947 in Olathe, Kansas. They began their lives together in Davenport, Iowa and later moved to Durant, where they resided for many years.
Anna worked for many years at Bendix/Litton Industries in Davenport, and retired at age 61 to travel with Bob. They enjoyed many trips in the western states. She enjoyed quilting and gardening, and her family was very important to her. While living in Durant, she attended First Presbyterian Church in Wilton.
Anna is survived by her children, Phillip (Marlys) Young of Bristol, Illinois, Patricia (Lynn) Paustian of Ankeny, Iowa and Robert Young of Urbandale, Iowa; grandchildren Christopher Young of Bristol, Illinois; Andrew Young of Plano, Illinois; Melissa (Jeff) Conner of Waukee, Iowa; Michael Paustian of Ann Arbor, Michigan; Laura (Cedric) Tarkelly of North Liberty, Iowa; Tom (Punitha) Paustian of Plymouth, Minnesota; Michael (Melissa) Young of Medford, Massachusetts, and Kate (Brian) Mastrangeli of Rockford, Illinois; 8 great-grandchildren, Zachary Paustian, Tyler Mason, Sam Mason, Will Mason, Kathan Paustian, Aravan Paustian, Revathi Anna Paustian, Arlo Mastrangeli and Whitney Young; sisters Mary Arnold and Francis (Harley) Wahl; and brother Joe (Linda).
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert on Nov. 1, 1996; parents Ned and Fern Lane; brothers Frank, Bill, Jim, Harold, Herb and Bob; and sisters Kate Berger, Janet Elsey and June Shocky.
