Jay and Jean (Hammes) Semsch are celebrating 50 years together on Nov. 17, 2023. They were married in Jean’s hometown of Richland, Iowa, at Mother Cabrini Catholic Church.
Jay was a Garage Door Installer in Davenport and Maintenance Supervisor at Durant School in Durant. Jean was a Registered Nurse for 47 years at St. Luke’s Hospital in Davenport and Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Jay served in the Navy from 1968-1973 which included a Vietnam tour.
They are the parents of Jessica (Austin) Williams-Stockton, Iowa and Jill (Derek) Trobaugh-Johnston, Iowa.
Their grandchildren are Nolan Williams, Nevin Williams, Mara Trobaugh and Grant Trobaugh.
A trip to San Diego was taken to celebrate the milestone. A highlight of the trip was to visit the USS Midway Museum where Jay took his basic training in the Navy.
