Dolores Rodts

Dolores Ann Rodts, 82, of Milan, Ill., passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, at St. Ambrose Church, Milan. Visitation was 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline, with a rosary at 12:30 p.m.  Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the church or Milan Christian Food Pantry.

Dolores was born Oct. 30, 1942, in Davenport, the daughter of Ralph and Lenora (Runge) Treimer.  She married John W. Rodts on June 28, 1969, at St. Ambrose Church, Milan. 

Dolores retired from J.L. Brady, Moline, in 2013. She was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Milan, where she volunteered at the former St. Ambrose Food Pantry.  She also volunteered at her children’s schools when they were younger.

Dolores enjoyed her farming roots, ballroom dancing, bowling, gardening, and running.  In her retirement, she liked traveling worldwide with her husband.  She loved her family and also enjoyed family gatherings, playing ball with her children and grandchildren and attending their sporting activities.

Survivors include her husband, John; children, Mark (Julie) Rodts, Raleigh, N.C., and Jill Rodts, Milan; grandchildren, Basil (Sydney), Dominic (Emma), Andrew, Bernadette, Cyril, Agnes, Ephrem, Sophia, Clement and Alexa Rodts; sisters, Marilyn (John) Rodgers, Wilton, and Darlene (Brian) Toft, Davenport; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and twin brother, Donald Treimer.
