Debra Ann Bauman, age 66, of Davenport, passed away Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport. A visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17 (today), at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. A funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 17, at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the funeral service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her memory. Deb was born on May 29, 1958, the daughter of Ronald and Bertha (Urmie) Paustian in Davenport. She graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1976. Deb married Christopher Bauman on Oct. 7, 1995, in Davenport. Chris passed away on Jan. 5, 2023.
Deb’s passion for nature led to a fulfilling career as a floral designer at Flowerama and Wallace’s Garden Center. Her artistic touch and love for flowers brought beauty into the lives of countless people over the years. Deb was a longtime member of the Durant American Legion Auxiliary, where she enjoyed serving her community. She also loved taking bus trips with her sister, Jeanette, particularly to Washington D.C. and Branson. In her spare time, Deb enjoyed crafting custom greeting cards, pouring her creativity into each design. She also cherished time spent outdoors, tending to her beloved flower gardens.
Deb will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Bertha; two stepchildren, Gregory (Jamie) Bauman of California and Elizabeth Bauman of Rock Island; one step-granddaughter; three stepsiblings, Jeanette Sherwood of Wilton, Mike (Rhonda) Taylor of Tipton, and Gene (Debbie) Taylor of Wilton; and many nieces and nephews.
Deb was preceded in death by her husband, Chris; father, Ronald; her step-mother, Edith Paustian; one sister, Denise Paustian; and one brother-in-law, Jim Sherwood.
