Andrew C. Oien, age 43, of Wilton, passed away Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Muscatine. A funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the First Presbyterian Church, Wilton. A visitation was held from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12, at the church. Burial took place in Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Memorials will be used to establish a scholarship fund for his daughters, C/O Stephanie Oien. Andrew was born on Dec. 29, 1980, the son of Steven and Rita (Schmidt) Oien. He graduated from Wilton High School with the Class of 1999. Andrew married Stephanie Hohenadel on Oct. 21, 2000, at the First Presbyterian Church.
Andy built his career as a Master Electrician with Jeff Hackett Electric in Muscatine. He later owned and operated Andrew Oien Electric and Priority 1 Home Inspections. Since 2021, Andy served as the Building Division Manager for the City of Muscatine, where his commitment to quality and excellence was evident in every project. Above all, Andy was a devoted father and husband, immersing himself in his daughters’ lives with passion and pride. He coached their softball teams, cheering from the sidelines and making time for every game and activity. His quick wit and sharp sense of humor left lasting impressions on those who had the privilege of knowing him. Beyond family, Andy found joy in cooking and canning, boating, and taking his Harley out on the open road. His love for adventure began in his youth, tearing up trails on dirt bikes and ATVs. A true racing fan, Andy also enjoyed NASCAR and dirt track racing.
Andy will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Stephanie; three daughters, Amber, Ashley, and Aubrey; his mother, Rita; a brother, Dan; four nieces, Shelby, Delanie, Embra, and Hadley; and one nephew, Gage.
Andrew was preceded in death by his father, Steve; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
