Randy Schmidt is national champ

Dec. 28, 2016: Randy Schmidt, a 2013 graduate of North Scott, helped lead the Northwest Missouri State University Bearcats to an NCAA Division II national title and ended up on ESPN’s SportsCenter in the process. During the game played in sub-zero temperatures and a blinding snowstorm, Schmidt caught a soaring pass one-handed and tiptoed down the sideline for a first down that led to a touchdown. “To be honest, I was a little bit surprised I caught it,” he said.
