Obituary: Ted Brockhouse

Ted A. Brockhouse, 62, of Davenport, passed away April 5, 2021, in Madison, Wis., after an extended illness.

Cremation rights will be accorded, per his wishes. There will be a celebration of life at the Circle Tap in Davenport on April 16, from 1-6 p.m.

Ted was born Aug. 21, 1958, in Davenport, the son of Earl and Joyce (Graaff) Brockhouse. He was a 1976 graduate of North Scott High School in Eldridge. He was united in marriage to Rhonda Becker on Sept. 6, 1980, in Princeton, and together they had two children.

Ted served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany from 1976-1979. For many years he was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club. He was a volunteer firefighter for the city of Princeton, Iowa from 1982-1990 and enjoyed water fights. Ted loved hunting, fishing and golfing and took many fishing trips with his brothers and friends, but most of all, he loved his yearly fishing trip with his wife Rhonda to southern Iowa.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 40 years, Rhonda; children Amy and Brett, both of Davenport; siblings Dwight (Debbie) of Muscatine, and Randy (Rhonda), LeClaire. He is also survived by many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends including his sidekick canine, Clare.

Ted was preceeded in death by his parents, Earl and Joyce Brockhouse, and his sister, Debra Joy.
