On Aug. 27, 2021, the community of family and friends surrounding Robert W. York, of Eldridge, lost a beautiful soul. Bob’s life ended too soon, taken suddenly through natural causes.
Just two weeks shy of his 57th birthday, Bob lived his life to the fullest, overcoming obstacles and tragedies, always finding reasons to smile, and to make others around him laugh, no matter what the mood was. Drawing on his unique personal charms, Bob made new friends everywhere he went.
Bob leaves behind two beautiful sons, Samuel H. and Alexander R. York. They were his greatest source of pride, and along with all of his family, they will miss his silly sense of humor, his joyful and his extremely humble nature.
He was affectionate, compassionate and always willing to help anyone who reached out for support. Bob always felt that his family and their love for him was his most significant achievement.
As well as his two boys, Bob leaves behind his deeply devoted sister, Maggie Hsu, many nieces, nephews, cousins and two beautiful grandchildren.
The boys have requested a private burial for immediate family only as they try to come to terms with their grief. As per Bob’s wishes, a celebration of life will be scheduled in the near future and announced through multiple sources, so that all who knew and loved Bob can gather together and remember him and share in the love he had for everyone he welcomed into his circle.
Bob’s death was sudden and shocking, and for this reason a GOFUNDME site has been established by his niece, Baylee, to help assist Bob’s boys in covering these overwhelming costs.
