A celebration of life service for Richard “Dick” Strong, 61, of Blue Grass, was held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at St. Andrew’s Parish Hall, Blue Grass. Private burial will be at a later date. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Strong died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2020, at his home.
Richard Strong was born Feb. 14, 1958, in LaCrosse, Wis., the son of Norbert and Loretta (Stahl) Strong. He graduated from Kee High School in Lansing, Iowa, in 1977.
He and his wife, Bonnie, were married March 31, 1989.
He retired from Davenport Schools after 32 years of service. He started Strong Lawn Care in 1991, continuing that business until his health no longer allowed.
His hobbies were raising Labradors, hunting and fishing, and following sports.
Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Melissa (John) Trimble, Amanda (Nic) Hughes, and Andrea (Brian) Caldwell; a son, Michael; five grandchildren; and two sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother.
Memorials may be made to the family, who will distribute them to local organizations.
