Obituary: Raymond Yoke

Raymond R. Yoke, 80, of Park View, passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Bettendorf Healthcare Center.

Visitation was held from 10 a.m. - noon on Saturday, March 29, at Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge.  A memorial service began at noon.  Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to King’s Harvest No-Kill Pet Rescue, Mt. Joy.

Raymond was born on Jan. 29, 1945, in Davenport, the son of Ross and Regina (Duffy) Yoke.  On June 18, 1971, he was united in marriage to Chris Liebbie in Davenport.  He worked as an electrician for Caterpillar for 30 years, and later at Alcoa for 15 years.  Raymond enjoyed traveling to national parks and woodworking.  He also enjoyed pool time in the backyard, and played and competed in Chinese Golf and Cornholio, struggling to win the coveted trophy of “Champions Ubda Wold!”  Above all, Raymond enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Chris Yoke; daughters, Angela (Steve) Syler, Carolyn (Sohn) Smith, Anna (Rodney) Winters; son, Eric (Sandy) Yoke; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean (Leo) Maher, Alice (Jim) Ellison, Cecilia Laake, and Gloria (Allen) Longmire; brother, John Robert (Gloria) Yoke; and his beloved feline companions, Sissy and Sunny.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Yoke-Bowden; son, Anthony Yoke; brother, Joe Yoke; and son-in-law, Joe Munoz.
