The Funeral Service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Marilyn was laid to rest at Rose Hill Cemetery in Buffalo. Marilyn was born Dec. 2, 1935, to R. Carl and Agnes (Bell) Duncan in Buffalo. On Nov. 23, 1953, she married the love of her life, Raymond Farley, in Iowa City.  He preceded her in death on June 28, 2008.  She had worked in the payroll department at the Rock Island Arsenal for 20 years prior to retiring.

She was an active member of the Calvary Lutheran Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many activities with her husband Ray.  She camped, gardened, prepared countless wildlife meals, played bridge monthly with her friends, and loved traveling to Texas in the winter.

Her door was always open for family and friends and she always had hot tea, coffee, and cookies prepared for all to enjoy.

She loved sewing, making quilts for family members, and looked forward to making various items for the church bazaars.

She was always on her iPad, looking for new recipes and sewing ideas.

We would like to thank both Jersey Ridge Place and Silvercrest Community Living for their outstanding and compassionate care.

Survivors include her children, Gwen (Joe) Bernauer of Buffalo, Kent (Angi) Farley of Cedar Falls, and Todd Farley of Minneapolis; nine grandchildren, Ashley and husband, Kyle, Amber, Alicia and significant other Mason, Anna, Jensen, Carter, Samantha, Joshua, and Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Abigail, Madison, Dublin, and Mason Jr.; family member, Kathy Farley; sister, Lillian Schnoor; brothers, Arthur Duncan and Lyle Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister-in-law, Barbara Duncan; and brother-in-law, Lauren Schnoor.
