Obituary: Lynn Sievers

Lynn Ann Sievers, age 80, of Stockton, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2021, at Genesis Health System - East Campus, Davenport.  A private funeral service was held at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant. Interment took place in Dixon Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.bentleyfuneralhome.com.

Lynn was born in Davenport, on Sept. 15, 1940, the daughter of Allen and Anita (Mumm) Lahl.  She graduated from Durant High School.  Lynn married Donavon L. Sievers on March 14, 1959, in Davenport.  Donavon preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2011.

Lynn worked at Liberty Trust and Savings in Durant.  She was a dedicated mother, wife and grandmother.  She worked alongside her husband on the family farm in rural Stockton.  In her younger years, Lynn and Donavon enjoyed dancing and playing cards, especially Sheepshead.  Lynn enjoyed attending county and state fairs to watch her family showing livestock.  In recent years, Lynn treasured going to dinner with friends and going to the casino.

Lynn is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Kristy (John) Buhl of Eldridge; son, Lonny (Diane) Sievers of Dixon; three grandchildren, Amber (Jason) Struxness of Woodworth, N.D., Justin (Hailey) Speth of Stockton, and Brittany (Eric) Hoffmann of Dixon; eight great-grandchildren, Mason, Gavin, Grant, Olivia, Cale, Kynlee, Owen, and Gentry; sisters, Vicki (Dave) Porth of East Moline, Sharon Lahl of Bradenton, Fla., Sally Bruce of Blue Grass, and Denise (Michael) Adams of University Park, Fla.; and a step-brother, Rick (Linda) Ryan of Welton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donavon and grandson, Blake Sievers.
