Obituary: Lynn Henderson

Lynn Henderson, 60, of DeWitt, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, in her home.

Visitation will be at Schultz Funeral Home, DeWitt on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 2 p.m. until the service time of 3 p.m., Rev. Pete Hoft officiating. Cake and coffee will be served following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the DeWitt Referral Center, or Humility Homes in Davenport.

Lynn Anette Kilpatrick was born Dec. 14, 1963, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Joy (Johnson) Hurt. Lynn was baptized at the age of 2, and later confirmed at St. Aloysius Church in Chicago. She moved to the DeWitt area to be near her daughter.

Lynn was a member of Park View Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed being involved in the quilting group. She was a selfless and good-hearted person who held no ill-will and was always helping others, even in the midst of her own need. She held nothing back, and was impossible to embarrass. Lynn was a good neighbor, and made friends everywhere she went. Her life revolved around her only grandchild, Emmalyn, whom she adored.

Surviving are her daughter, Melissa (Clifton) Willey of Long Grove, with their daughter Emmalyn; and her son Neal Henderson of Illinois; siblings, Penny (Roger) LaBorn, and Craig (Suzie) Hurt; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother.
