Lois A. Seibel, 87, of rural Walcott, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, at the Summit of Bettendorf.
Her funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Friday, Jan. 3, at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Maysville Cemetery in Maysville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Maysville Volunteer Fire Department or the Maysville Cemetery Association.
Lois was born Jan. 17, 1937, in Davenport, the daughter of Henry and Agnes (Claussen) Jacobsen. She was united in marriage to Fred L. Seibel on April 7, 1956, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on July 18, 2008.
Lois had volunteered for many years with the Dixon American Legion Post #353. She had enjoyed baking and crafting. She also enjoyed the company of her friends and frequenting the casinos.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Deb Steffen of Davenport; her son, Doug Seibel and his friend, Monica Beeks of Walcott; her grandchildren, Josh Steffen, Kayla (Adam) Blind and Shawn Steffen; her great-grandson, Richard Steffen; her sister, Ruth Jurgens of Eldridge; her sister-in-law, Jeanie Moffit of Davenport; and special friends who were there for Lois, Dawn and Kerry Meyer and Jayne Bremer.
In addition to her husband, Fred, Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Gilbert Jacobsen; her brother-in-law, Elmer Jurgens; her son-in-law, Dick Steffen; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold and Marilyn Seibel; and her niece and nephew, Linda and Steve Jurgens.
