Obituary: Kim Buckland

Kim L. “Buck” Buckland, 60, of Princeton, passed away on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital & Clinics, Iowa City, following a long and courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. 

Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.

Kim was born on Aug. 16, 1960, in Mason City, the son of Gene and Patsy (Adams) Buckland.  He attended North Scott High School. As a general contractor, Kim owned and operated Buckland Builders. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and boating, and especially loved spending time with his friends. 

Those left to honor his memory are his father, Gene Buckland of Davenport; fiancée, Erin Hamilton of Princeton; daughter, Ashley Domdee of Camanche; sister, Kelly (Lee) Zindel of Davenport; brothers, Todd (Pam) Buckland of Bloomington, Ill., Brad (Wendy) Buckland of Long Grove; granddaughter, Aubrie Domdee of Camanche; nieces and nephews, Adam (Angie) Buckland, Carly (Kevin) Dobbs, Gavin (Layne) Buckland, Garrett Buckland; great-nieces and nephew, Kaitlyn Buckland, Rayven and Soren Dobbs; and his three feline companions, Tom, Jerry, and Lily.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patsy.
