Obituary: Kenneth Quinnn

A funeral service for Kenneth Alley Quinn, 94, of Davenport, was held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Monday at the mortuary. Burial was in Davenport Memorial Park.

Mr. Quinn died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at Senior Star Memory Care, Davenport.

Kenneth Quinn was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Lineville, Iowa, the son of Grover and Pansy Quinn.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-1945, and was in the Battle of the Bulge, where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

He married Frieda Mae Nelson on July 30, 1949. She preceded him in death.

He was employed a Red Jacket Pump for 30 years.

He was a member of Rock Island VFW Post 1303.

His hobbies were fishing, watching professional wrestling and movies, listening to music, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Sharon (Jose) Tariol, Cindy (Tom) Livingston, and Penny (Terry) Plett; his sons, Kenneth (Susan) Quinn and Michael (Sandy) Quinn; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, PFC Darryl Quinn; and his siblings, Ray, Bob, Lem, Frank, Ruth and Viola.
