Julie was born on Sept. 5, 1958, the daughter of Leon and Dorothy (Stender) Dietz in Davenport. She graduated from Durant High School with the Class of 1976. After high school, she attended the American Institute of Commerce in Davenport. In 1984, Julie married Richard Dolter, and although their paths eventually diverged, they shared many meaningful years together.
Julie’s professional journey began at Servus Rubber in Rock Island, where she worked diligently for 30 years. Later, she transitioned into sales at Red Wing Boots in Davenport, before lending her expertise to Matt Sturdevant and Bob Taylor State Farm Insurance. She eventually retired in 2023 after a fulfilling career at Amy Sabbag State Farm. Beyond her professional life, Julie was a dedicated member of AA in Davenport, where she served as treasurer. Her commitment to helping others was evident in all aspects of her life. Julie had a passion for reading, golfing, fishing, and spending time with her beloved dog, Bailey.
In her younger years, Julie was a talented athlete, playing basketball and softball. However, the true joy of her life was her son, Daren. Julie was a devoted mother who cherished every moment spent with Daren, proudly attending his events and supporting him in all his endeavors.
Julie will be dearly missed by her son, Daren (Emilie Antolik) Dolter of Davenport; her mother, Dorothy Dietz of Durant; one brother, Rod (Sherri) Dietz of Walcott; two sisters, Jill (Kelly) Proctor of Wilton, and Janelle (Terry Simoens) of Durant; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Julie was preceded in death by her father, Leon.
