Obituary: Judith Tinkler

Judith “Judy” M. Tinkler, 83, of Eldridge, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2021. Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 14, from 3-5 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services were Monday, Nov. 15, at 10 a.m. in the Runge Mortuary chapel. She was laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Judith was born Oct. 25, 1938, the daughter of Alvin and Julia (Koenig) Blocker in Davenport. On May 30, 1958, she was married to Donald Tinkler at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Davenport. They met when she was 13 years old and he was 14. She worked as a library aide at Edward White Elementary in Eldridge for 28 years.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also relished the time spent with her siblings. Judy loved going to her grandchildren’s sporting activities. She also liked quilting, working on her family tree, watching Disney movies, and celebrating Christmas.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald Tinkler; daughter, Deborah Tinkler; son, Daniel (Wendy) Tinkler; grandchildren, Danielle (Trevis) Hermsen and Jeremy (Bailey) Tinkler; great-grandchildren, Myla Hermsen, Lane Hermsen, and Oliver Tinkler; and brother-in-law, Jerry (Carole) Tinkler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John, Herbert and Mikell; and her sisters: Norma Beadel, Linda (Rick) Richters, Catherine (Chuck) Wallace, Mary (Dan) Groenbeck, Maxine Blocker and Julia (Stan) Thee.
