Joyce E. Wulf, age 92, of Walcott, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at Better Living of Walcott. Cremation rites have been accorded. In accordance with her wishes, no services will be held at this time. Memorials may be made to Walcott Fire Department or the Walcott American Legion, Post # 548 in her memory. Joyce was born on Aug. 10, 1932, the daughter of Lloyd and Margaret (Beenk) Masonholder in Louisa County, Iowa. She married Wilbert W. Wulf on Sept. 10, 1949, in Davenport. Wilbert passed away on March 9, 2019.
Together with her husband Wilbert, Joyce worked tirelessly on their five-generation family farm. After retiring in 1991, Joyce continued to enjoy the simple pleasures of life on the farm, including tending to her beautiful flower garden.
Joyce had many interests, but her greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved. Whether it was gathering in the kitchen to cook the most delicious meals, casting a line in the water while fishing or setting out on travels to explore the beauty of the mountains, Joyce’s heart was always full when she was with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She leaves behind a legacy of family, hard work and kindness that will continue to inspire everyone who knew her.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Peterson of Keithsburg, Ill.; two sons, Tony (LuAnn) Wulf of Walcott and Steven (Mary Meincke) Wulf of Davenport; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Donna (Michael) Otis of Des Moines and Doris Ryan of Davenport.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert; two sisters, Janice Carney and Pat Behncke; and her brother in-law, Thomas Ryan.
