Jodi Meyer, 66, of DeWitt, died Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Jodi Lynn Meyer was born Feb. 17, 1959, in DeWitt, to Harlan and Gertrude (Walker) Meyer. She grew up on family farms in Scott and Clinton County and graduated from Central Community Schools in DeWitt. She later graduated from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, earning a degree in horticulture. Jodi also received certification in Oklahoma as a Certified Nurseryman. She was a dedicated and hard-working horticulturist in nurseries across Illinois, Iowa, and Oklahoma, retiring as a greenhouse helper in 2020, after 40 years in the industry.
Jodi enjoyed helping with farm chores and caring for the animals, taking walks around town, and going on hiking trips with her sister across the country. She loved cooking and collecting and wearing her “Life Is Good” shirts. Jodi took great pride in yard work, especially mowing and tending to her flowers. There wasn’t a flower or tree she didn’t know how to care for. She loved her dogs, Autumn and Raskal.
Surviving are her siblings, Sue Meyer of Norman, Okla., and Ross Meyer of DeWitt; aunts and uncles, Barb Paustian, Richard Walker, Wayne (Carol) Meyer; and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harlan and Gertrude.
Jodi will be interred at Elmwood Cemetery with a private family service.
