On behalf of John and family, we would like to share the below with you.

Ms. Gloria Ann Wadworth, 58, of Greenwich, Conn., formerly of Blue Grass, passed away peacefully, Aug. 1, 2022, at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, after a long battle with leukemia.

Born in Davenport, Feb. 20, 1964, she was raised in Blue Grass, and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. As a youth, she grew up on the family farm and was a nine-year member of the 4-H Blue Grass Sunshine Workers, showing Brown Swiss dairy cows at the Mississippi Valley Fair and the Iowa State Fair. Gloria graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in finance, and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority. She had a long career in many compliance divisions of the financial world, working in both Chicago and New York City. Gloria was an active member of the Futures Industry Association (www.fia.org), where she served on the Executive Committee of the Law & Compliance Division. Gloria volunteered for many local charities in the Greenwich area.

Gloria was an active member of the First Presbyterian churches in both Chicago and Greenwich.

Gloria always had a friendly, welcoming disposition, whether she had known you for years, or you had just met. She loved to explore new restaurants and live well. Gloria loved to shop, golf, frequent estate sales, and she never missed a good farmers market, especially looking for authentic Amish pies. She loved her Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Bears. Gloria loved Florida seafood, Iowa pork chops, Starbucks coffee (iced vanilla latte with coconut milk), lobster rolls, wine with ice, and sweet corn back on the farm. She loved attending art fairs, especially the Chicago Olde Town Art Fair. Gloria loved taking walks at Tod’s Point and the annual sidewalk sales in Greenwich. She loved walks on the beach, especially at Block Island, R.I., and Naples, Fla. She would make several dinner reservations, knowing she was only going to eat in the restaurant she was finally drawn to. Gloria was a woman of style.

After her parents passed, Gloria, along with other family members, continued to run the 100+ year family farm in Blue Grass. As a true farmer, she was always concerned about the weather.

Survivors include her life partner of 25 years, John Buckley of Greenwich; brother, Robert Wadsworth of Eldridge; sisters, Janice Ross of Solon, Nancy Johnson (husband Tim) of Gravois Mills, Mo., Carolyn Bertuccelli (husband Ed) of Cooper City, Fla., and Alice Bailey (husband Josh) of Gahanna, Ohio; nephews and nieces, Tracy, Amanda, Karen, Joe, Gabe, Nate, Becca, Valerie, Melanie, Tommy and Katie; numerous great nieces and nephews; and fur niece and nephew, Lena and Bruno.

Gloria was preceded in death by her mother and father, Evelyn and Thomas Wadsworth.

THANK YOU to all the wonderful, talented doctors and nurses who cared for Gloria during her long fight with leukemia.
