Gary began his career with D & C Trucking in Wilton before moving on to Bennett Trucking in Bennett. Eventually, he established Fick Trucking, where he specialized in hauling grain and fertilizer. A proud member and former director of the Deer Valley Collectors, Gary had an incredible appreciation for vintage machinery. He enthusiastically collected John Deere, Minneapolis Moline, Allis Chalmers, and International Harvester tractors, immersing himself in the history and mechanics of these classics. He was known for his focus and determination, always eager to expand his knowledge and share his expertise with others.
Friday nights were a cherished tradition for Gary, as he gathered with friends at the Walcott I-80 Truck Stop to share stories. Despite his busy life, he always made family holidays a priority, treasuring time spent creating memories with his loved ones. His legacy of hard work, passion for vintage farming equipment, and love for his family and friends will never be forgotten.
Gary will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Caryl (Gary) Maurer of Wilton; two nieces, Camille Maurer and Madeline (Zach) Grouwinkel; one nephew, Grant Maurer; and numerous cousins.
