A memorial service honoring the life of Edwin J. “Ed” Stoltz, 82, of Eldridge, formerly of Dubuque, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Following the service, full military honors were accorded by the VFW at the church, where friends and family also gathered for food and fellowship. The Tri-State Cremation Center, East Dubuque, Ill., assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Stoltz died Sunday, March 30, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Home, Davenport.
Edwin Stoltz was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Dubuque, the son of Edward and Alfrieda (Kass) Stoltz.
He married Kathleen “Kathy” Boelk on Feb. 15, 1964.
Survivors include his wife; his sons, John (Kim) Stoltz, Bettendorf, and Joe (Christy) Stoltz, West Des Moines; four grandchildren; and his siblings, Rita Winch, Fort Dodge, Janet Veach, Dubuque, Mary (Gary) Guild, Sun Prairie, Wis., and Gail Ehlers, Waterloo.
An Edwin J. Stoltz Memorial Fund has been established and will be donated among his favorite charities. Memorials may also be made directly to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Quad-Cities Veterans Outreach Center.
