Obituary: Denis ‘Jack’ Pacha

Denis John “Jack” Pacha, 69, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 4, 2025, in Bettendorf.

James F. Pacha and Bernice (Covington) welcomed their fifth son on Feb. 25, 1955, in Davenport. Jack, as he was always called, grew up on the family farm in Long Grove with his 13 siblings. He graduated from North Scott High School in 1973. At the age of 48, he retired from Case I.H., where he was a machinist. His favorite pastimes were fishing, playing cards, casino and darts.

In 1984, he married and later divorced Karen Nord. Jack had two daughters: Erika Brocksmith and Alissa Krambeck (Kurt). His grandchildren are Kade Brocksmith and Koen and Annika Krambeck.

He is survived by his brothers, James Jr. (Yolanda), Henry (Lora) and Paul (Pam). His sisters are: Barb (John) Olsen, Roberta Shinbori, Loretta Beswick, Bonnie Pacha and Peggy (Glenn) Manders.

He has dozens of nephews and nieces.

These siblings preceded him in death: Lucille Geske, Florence Pacha, Mike Pacha, Peter Pacha and Joe Pacha; nephews: Carter Pacha and Peter Pacha Jr.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
