Former Eldridge police officer pleads guilty to on-duty juvenile sex assault

Former Eldridge police officer Andrew Denoyer, 24, pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony sexual assault charges.

Scott County district court judge Joel Barrows accepted Denoyer’s guilty plea to three counts filed Sept. 29. The charges alleged Denoyer had sex with a 14-year-old girl while on duty as an Eldridge officer.

Eldridge police chief Joe Sisler accepted Denoyer’s resignation the day before prosecutors filed the charges.

Denoyer spent a year as a Davenport police officer before joining the Eldridge department in August 2020 at a rate of $26.35 per hour.
