In the North Scott area, some parents may second-guess their child's decision to take an agriculture class if they do not live on a farm. However, today's agriculture classes offer much more than just farming, with a diverse curriculum that prepares students for various future careers. Many schools in Iowa, such as Des Moines, Waukee, and Ames, are also adding agriculture classes to their roster, recognizing the importance of preparing students for the global challenge of sustainably feeding the world's growing population.
