Eugene Newell will celebrate his 90th birthday March 12.
He was born in 1931, the son of H.P. Newell and Erma Baustian (Newell) Roddewig. He married Shirley Connell at St. Ann’s Catholic Church Nov. 11, 1954. She passed away in 2020.
Eugene has been a dairy farmer at Long Grove his entire life.
His children and their spouses are Dan and Julie Newell, Long Grove; Sherry Newell and Joe Opitz, Avon, Minn.; and Linda and Mike Hanson, Goodridge, Minn. His grandchildren are Gus Newell, Elinor (Mat) Opitz-Hopfer, David (Ashley) Hanson, Matthew (Malena) Hanson and Steven Hanson.
