Fitness center remains open

Eldridge closed all city buildings including the Community Center Friday because of the county’s pandemic spike.

The order effects City Hall, the police department, public works shop and community center buildings to the public unless an approved appointment is pre-arranged.

The city’s fitness center remains open under the order released Friday afternoon.

The city encourages residents to use online services or the drop box at City Hall.

According to a statement from City Administrator Lisa Kotter: “Public meetings may also shift to partial in-person and partial virtual participation after the Thanksgiving holiday. We will continue to monitor the current health situation and make adjustments as it becomes appropriate. When changes are made in the future, additional press releases will be issued. If you have any questions please contact Lisa Kotter, City Administrator at (309) 781-9035.”
