Donald Rathjen was born June 4, 1935, in Eldridge. He married the late Delores (Dittman) Rathjen on Feb. 15, 1958.
He was employed at the Eldridge Cooperative Elevator.
He was a member of the Long Grove Lions Club and the Long Grove Fire Department.
He is the father of Debbie (Frank) Sadd, Donald (Sharon) Rathjen, Denise (Vince) Jackovich, and Danny Rathjen. He has six granddaughters, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
