2005: New Waste Commission opens electronic demanufacturing facility

Oct. 26, 2005: The Waste Commission of Scott County opened the Electronic Demanufacturing Facility. It was the first publicly owned, regional demanufacturing and collection site in Iowa. The commission also celebrated 10 years of curbside recycling in Scott County. Since it began, the county had recycled an estimated 100,000 tons of materials.
