1995: Dixon-Donahue residents protest youth camp at Hidden Oaks

Sept. 13, 1995: A proposed youth camp for non-violent offenders that would have been started at Hidden Oaks Camp, near Donahue and Dixon, was cancelled due to community outcry and zoning issues. The camp, which was to have been managed by Family Resources Inc., would have served 24 young men aged 15-17. More than 300 residents of Donahue and Dixon voiced opposition, citing safety concerns and a lack of communication from Family Resources.
