Veronna M. “Tootie” Sorgenfrey, 83, of Durant died Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Courtyard Estates of Walcott. Visitation was held March 17 at the Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. Funeral service was held on March 18 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Durant. Interment will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church or Courtyard Estates in her memory.

Tootie was born in Scott County on July 8, 1936 to Richard and Verna (Illian) Puck. Tootie married Kenneth W. Sorgenfrey on Sept. 14, 1957 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 2010.

She was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, attending Bible studies and a member of the ladies group. She and Kenny were members of the American Guernsey Cattle Club and the Scott County Farm Bureau. Tootie was well known for her baking skills, especially her pies, dinner rolls and tea rings.

She is survived by her daughters Sandra (Jeff) Anderson of Aurora, Colorado, Marilyn (Tim) Reimers of Durant, Carol (Bob) Evans of Coralville, Linda (Devon) Miller of Waukee, and Susan Sorgenfrey of Durant; her sons Glenn (Shelly) Sorgenfrey of Durant and Myron (Lis) of Graham, Washington; 20 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her sisters Leila Dittmer of Wheatland and Jean (Wally) Kelding of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Eileen Peterson, Marlene Harmsen and Eunice Puck, and her great-grandson Tanner Reimers.
