Joyce Elizabeth Hamilton, 54, of Durant, IA, passed away Aug. 28, 2019 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Joyce was born in Davenport on Dec. 2, 1964 to Keith and Judy (Feldhahn) Morton. She was raised and educated in England and graduated from Durant High School in 1982. She later attended Marycrest College in Davenport, where she studied dietetics.
Joyce married James Hamilton on Sept. 15, 1988 in Incline Village, Nevada at The Ponderosa Ranch.
Joyce worked for more than 15 years as a billing supervisor for Florilli Trucking in West Liberty. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening, camping, raising pets and horses and speed shooting. Joyce also enjoyed cooking and baking.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Jim; one daughter, Heidi (Nathan Russ) Hamilton of Durant; one stepson, Jeremiah (Misty) Hamilton of Kenai, Alaska; four step-grandchildren, Emily (Paul) Bennett, Ashley Hamilton, Kailey Hamilton, and Joe Hamilton; her parents, Keith (Judy) Morton of Blue Grass; and two sisters, Karen Morton of Davenport and Jean Morton of Arizona.
