The Durant J. L. Shryer American Legion Auxiliary Unit 430 is taking applications for Girls State 75th session being held at Drake University in Des Moines on June 14-19.
This is an all-expense paid trip and open to all Durant high school junior girls. One young lady will be chosen to attend by a committee of Auxiliary members.
Application forms can be picked up at the counselor’s office at Durant High School.
You will learn about our political system at the city, county and state government levels. You do not have to have any prior knowledge of government politics to attend this program.
All applications must be received no later than Feb. 17. Please mail them to the Auxiliary address listed on the form.
