The Siegfried Petersen Scholarship Committee has announced its scholarship selections for 2019. One individual will receive $6,000, two will receive $4,000 each and two will receive $3,000 each from the trust account that was established by Mr. Petersen, a life-long farmer in the Bennett area.
This year’s winners were selected from a list of 15 applicants and include Laken Hermiston, Tipton (Tipton High School) who will receive $6,000; Jaylin Pearson, Lowden (North Cedar High School) and Mallory Warner, Durant (Durant High School) who each receive $4,000; and Bryce Lafrenz, Wilton (Durant High School) and Jonah Werth, Bennett (Durant High School) who each receive $3,000.
The committee would like to encourage anyone in the Cedar County area who will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in 2020-2021 to apply again in the spring of 2020.
