With 10-year moratorium ended, Eldridge loses bid for Cat annexation

Dec. 7, 1978: The city of Eldridge lost its $50 million land annexation lawsuit when the Iowa Supreme Court denied a motion to reconsider an October ruling which had dismissed Eldridge’s appeal. At issue was whether the Caterpillar plant at Mount Joy would become part of Davenport or Eldridge.
