Verna Henning of Walcott will celebrate her 93rd birthday Feb. 17.
Verna Sothmann was born Feb. 17, 1925, near Walcott.
She married the late Ernest Henning on Aug. 12, 1944, in Davenport.
She worked at the Rock Island Arsenal and taught school in a rural school near Dixon. She has sold Avon for 56 years, and is an occasional greeter at Bentley Funeral Home in Durant. She is a member of numerous card clubs.
Her children are Verlynn (Richard) Moroney, Renae Perrine, and Lyndon (Ruth) Henning.
She has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
