I didn't grow up with hockey, and if a hockey franchise in the Quad Cities were to depend on me for success, it probably wouldn't make it. But that doesn't mean I'm not pulling for our region's new entry into professional hockey, the Quad City Storm, to succeed for the long term where its predecessors, the Mallards and the Flames, did not.
