1977: School immunizations required

July 21, 1977: Iowa Gov. Robert D. Ray signed a new law which required all students entering school in September to provide proof that their immunizations had been completed. North Scott officials asked all parents to check immunization records to make sure that their children were up to date with required immunizations. They also notified The North Scott Press that families who required additional immunizations and did not have a family doctor, could visit the Scott County Visiting Nurse Association’s clinic to be held at Ed White Elementary School.
