William John Thurner Jr., 83, of Davenport, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.
William Thurner was born July 9, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of Margaret (Councilman) and William Thurner Sr. He earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota.
He married Jenny Nelson.
He had a career in aerospace engineering, and was employed by General Dynamics, Boeing, Bell Helicopter, Sino Swearingen, and Cobham.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa (Thurner) Kadel and Rich Kadel, Pleasanton, Calif.; a son, Dan Satterfield, San Diego, Calif.; and his grandchildren, Brooke and Paige Kadel.
