A memorial service for Wesley Mart Reese, 55, of DeWitt, was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at DeWitt United Methodist Church. Visitation was Sunday, Dec. 2, from 3-6 p.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge.
Mr. Reese died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018.
Wesley Reese was born Aug. 11, 1963, in Iowa City, the son of Larry and Adele (Geisendorfer) Reese. He received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University.
He married Connie Mott on March 28, 1987, in Pleasant Valley.
He was a registered nurse for over 30 years with Mercy Hospital in Clinton and Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. He had also been a clinical instructor with Eastern Iowa Community College, and earned two Daisy awards for his work with patients.
His hobbies were helping those in need, woodworking, fishing, mowing lawn, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Tasha Reese and Charity (Devin) Lindsey; a grandson, Wesley Seeman; his father, Larry (Gail) Reese; his mother, Adele Reese; a sister, Gailia Spenner; a brother, Dirk (Melissa) Reese; and his mother-in-law, Ardith Mott.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Don Mott.
Memorials may be made to the family to establish a scholarship for nursing students in his name.
