A memorial service celebrating the life of Thomas A. “Tom” Carlson, 63, of Davenport, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 (today), at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation was Tuesday, Jan. 8, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Carlson died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.
Thomas Carlson was born March 20, 1955, in Canoga Park, Calif., the son of Rolly and Audrey (Nadeau) Carlson.
He married Yvonne Gipson on Sept. 13, 1997, in Long Grove.
He was employed at the Rock Island Holiday Inn as chief engineer of maintenance.
His hobbies were woodworking, photography, working in the yard, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Katherine “Kate” (Dustin) Benton, Abilene, Kan., and Michelle Morriss, Milan, Ill.; his grandchildren, Lily and Jack Benton, and Aaliyah Morriss; a sister, Kathy (Al) Alatorre, Cheyenne, Wyo.; and his brothers, Larry (Pat) Carlson, Egg Harbor Twp., N.J., and Peter Carlson (Betty Neff), Valencia, Calif.; and his mother-in-law, Marjorie Gipson, Davenport.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, Charles Gipson.
