Obituary: Richard Lassiter

A celebration of life service for Richard L. Lassiter, 74, of Princeton, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 29, at Boll’s Community Center, Princeton. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Lassiter died Wednesday, July 5, 2017, at his home.

Richard Lassiter was born in 1942 in Webb City, Mo., the son of William and Cleo Lassiter.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Margaret Kernan on Dec. 6, 1968, in Bettendorf. She died in 2000.

He worked as a welder for 33 years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of the NRA, Ducks Unlimited, and the Mississippi Valley Sportsmen.

His hobbies were hunting, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include a daughter, Kelly (Mark) McCollough; his sons, Jeff Lassiter and Terry (Laura) Lassiter; and his grandchildren, Maggie and Julia McCollough, and Jaisa, Hunter, and Olivia Lassiter.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tom.
