Obituary: Richard Kline

A funeral service for Richard A. “Dick” Kline, 72, of Davenport, was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the mortuary. Cremation rites were held following the service, and inurnment will be at a later date in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Kline died Friday, June 15, 2018.

Richard Kline was born Jan. 22, 1946 in Iowa City, the son of Leroy and Alice (Ritter) Kline.

He married Shirley Smith on April 22, 1967.

He began his career as a precision tool grinder at Caterpillar in 1973. He later worked for Packaging Technologies (RA Jones) from 1989-2010 as a tool crib manager. He was owner and operator of Kline Tool from 2010 until his retirement in 2017.

He was a member of Vineyard Church, Davenport.

His hobbies were golfing with friends, working out at the gym, watching television, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Richard (Georgia) Kline Jr., Fort Myers, Fla., Michelle Kline (Joe Bain) and Steven Kline (Jodette Collins), all of Davenport, and Andrew Rahn; his grandchildren, Tyler, Noah, Avery, Ethan, Eden, Alex, Alaina, and Victoria; and two great-grandchildren.
