Obituary: Raymond Perlick

A graveside service with military honors for Raymond Perlick, 96, of Davenport, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 26, in the All Vet’s Memorial at Davenport Memorial Park. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. The Runge Mortuary, Davenport, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Perlick died Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Senior Star at Elmore Place, Davenport.

Raymond Perlick was born Jan. 28, 1922, in Maywood, Ill.

He married Dorothy Bornholdt Feb. 5, 1946, in Alhambra, Calif. She died Nov. 21, 2008.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1942-1945.

He retired from Tri City Electric in 1982 after 34 years. After retirement, he was employed at Koehler Electric Co. in Davenport, retiring again in 1987.

He was a member of the Roosevelt Masonic Lodge, the Mohassan Grotto, and the Kaaba Shriners. He was an original founding member of the Grotto mini bikers and was in all the parades. He drove the bus to transport children to the Shriner’s Hospital in Chicago.

His hobbies were camping, fishing, playing cards, and walking his dog.

Survivors include his daughters, Phyllis Kolls, Rock Island, and Debbie (Dan) Cress, Davenport; his grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Metzler, Susan Cantrill, Dawn (Tom) Dillon, Brian Cress, and Tom Cress; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
