Ralph was born Dec. 14, 1925, in Taylor Ridge, Ill., a son of Clarence and Lillian Beck Lenser. He married Violet Gorman on Dec. 2, 1945, in Hamlet, Ill. The two celebrated nearly 70 years of marriage. Violet died May 5, 2015.

Ralph enjoyed a successful 35-year career with Deere & Company. He was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. A long-time member of the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club, Ralph looked forward to his weekly games and even landed a hole-in-one, of which he was very proud. Ralph was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes, and never missed an opportunity to take in games at Kinnick Stadium.

He treasured his family above all else. An immensely dedicated husband, father and grandfather he brought laughter, joy, and love to four generations. To the end, Ralph could be found cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s games and activities.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Carol (Dave) Davis, and granddaughter, Laura Davis, all of Moline; grandson, Craig Ohl, granddaughter-in-law, Peggy Ohl, and great-grandchildren, Thomas and Charlie Ohl, all of Eldridge; a niece, Liz; and nephews, Don and Robert. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Linda Ohl; grandson, Brent Ohl; and brothers, John and Clarence.

Ralph’s family would like to thank the staff from the UnityPoint Clinic, Friendship Home Services, UnityPoint Hospice and the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House for their continuing care and support.
