A funeral service for Otis D. “Big O” Boyd, 88, of Davenport, was held at noon on Saturday, May 4, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel, Davenport. Visitation was two hours prior to the service on Saturday at the mortuary. Burial was in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.
Mr. Boyd died Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Otis Boyd was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Columbus, Miss., the son of Walter and Birdie (Brown) Boyd.
He married Vera (Price) Boyd on April 10, 1991.
He worked at Alcoa in the plate mill for 40 years.
His hobbies were watching sports, spending time with friends and family, bowling, and going to the casinos.
Survivors include his children, Clyde (Pat) Boyd, Midland, Mich., Bart (Lourie) Boyd, Smithville, MO., Carol Boyd, Sioux City, Stephen (Carol) Price, Orion, Ill., and Vicky (Steven) Clark, Donahue; 14 grandchildren; and multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Wanda; a daughter, Debra Price Friederichs; a sister, Louise Turner; his brothers, Woodrow, Wesley, Walter, John, and Harley Boyd; and his in-laws, Art Collings, Ruth Chamberlain, Dorothy Mehmen, Mildred Hayes, and Marjorie Patterson.
