A Memorial Mass for Morgan J. “Morg” Tobin, 78, of Eldridge, was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Long Grove. Burial was in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, March 3, from 2-4 p.m. at the church, with additional visitation one hour prior to Mass on Monday at the church. The Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, assisted the family with arrangements.
Mr. Tobin died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport.
Morgan Tobin was born Oct. 8, 1940, in Davenport, the son of Martin and Agnes (Connell) Tobin. He graduated from DeWitt High School in 1958.
He married Sally Swarm on June 19, 1981, in Eldridge.
He worked as a maintenance supervisor for Oscar Mayer.
His hobbies were watching sports, working on old cars, and driving his pickup around to “check things out.”
Survivors include his wife; his children, Steve Tobin (Melissa McKee) and Sarah (John) Manthey, all of Eldridge, and Theresa (Craig) Tobin-Seghers, Long Grove; his grandchildren, Blaise, Morgan, Westen, Gunnar, and MacKenzie; a sister-in-law, Inez Tobin, Eldridge; and a brother-in-law, Roger (Marilyn) Swarm, St. Petersburg, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Fisher and Mary Ann Tobin; a brother, Matthew Tobin; and a brother-in-law, John Fisher.
